This exhibit includes women from multiple fields at Duke Medicine. Many of these women were pioneers or in some way firsts in those disciplines, so each has a unique historical perspective. For more context about these women please see the timeline in this exhibit, as well as the individual biographies of each woman. There will always be women pushing boundaries at Duke Medicine. This is an ongoing project, although its focus is largely on women who have blazed a trail at Duke in a time when there were fewer women in medicine in general.
